Financial Inclusion
The most important objective of Anandadhara is to reduce poverty through financial inclusion, backed by capacity building, livelihood training & convergence with other development agencies of Government.
Access to Credit:
Providing institutional credit to informal sector of economy, primarily Self Help Groups and its Federations under Anandadhara, is the most critical impetus to the inclusive growth of rural areas. SHGs as a tool of Financial Inclusion, particularly for savings and credit linkage has achieved a distinctive place in the area of rural development in West Bengal. As on date it is the third largest State in the country in terms of credit disbursement to SHGs.
Since April 2013, Anandadhara has facilitated women SHGs of the State and cumulatively leveraged Rs.52,275.38 crore from formal banking system. As on January 2022, an aggregate outstanding loan of Rs.14,769.51 crore is lying with 9,91,617 SHGs.
Financial Literacy:
Apart from Supply side, to boost up the demand side of the credit for the SHGs, all Gram Panchayats level Federations (Sangha) are running Financial Literacy Campaign by 5923 numbers of RSETI trained Financial Literacy- Community Resource Persons, imparting regular Financial Literacy to the SHG members through "Arthik Saksharata Kendra".
Safety Net for SHG members ( Basic Insurance Coverage):
Anandadhara has established basic system and protocols towards enrolment of SHG members under low cost Term Insurance of Life and Accident insurance coverage. Almost 80% of the SHG members are covered under "Swasthya Sathi", flagship health insurance programme of West Bengal State Government.
Pension : It is envisaged that SHG members should have a happy & healthy living during old age for which there should be source of income to fulfil the basic needs. Early investment in pension is the most appropriate way to ensure regular income during old age. Anandadhara is one of leading SRLM in the country in terms of mobilizing members for enrolment under pension products. As on Jan 22; more than 5.95 lakh members have enrolled under the contributory Pension Scheme.
Digital Financial Inclusion:
To provide doorstep banking services, digital e-payment facility in the rural areas, banking correspondent model has been adopted for the Women SHGs. Under "One GP,One BC Sakhi" programme of the Mission, there are 2444 Indian Institute of Banking & Finance (IIBF) certified women SHG members, ready & qualified to be on-boarded as BC Agent with the Banks. At present 164 full fledged Banking Correspondents and 1464 Digi Pay Sakhis on boarded with CSC E Governance Services India Ltd, who are serving as ICT enabled front end e-payment delivery points in the villages.
